Interview with Lovey James .

American Idol Alum, Lovey James continues to rise as one of America’s elite young artists. With a fresh new sound and pop soul vibe, Lovey released her summer single, “Tricks” written and produced by Steven Soloman, writer of James Arthur’s hit single “Say You Won’t Let Go.” Lovey is currently working with some of the industry’s premier songwriters who have worked with successful artists, Halsey, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato, to produce an EP to come out the end of Fall 2017.

Recently Lovey has found a love for giving back, she helped grant Nathan Ehline’s wish, through the Make-A-Wish organization, where she performed with boy band “Why Don’t We” and put on a concert as his wish. The concert was sold out at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland where more than 2,000 guests attended, all there to celebrate the life of Nathan Ehline.

Lovey also serves as a celebrity ambassador with one of America’s top Child Abuse Prevention Organizations, Child Help. She has helped to raise over $50,000 to give back to children in need. This Portland Oregon based artist is dedicated to sharing her message through music and through her passion and hard work continues to climb to the top.

This past month I have been focusing on perfecting my EP and sending it to mastering to get the final product. I have recently revamped my YouTube channel and began uploading monthly covers. And have been performing Christmas shows the whole month of December.

What are 3 things you’ve learned this past year..

1. Being yourself will always be most beneficial
2. Its okay to fall on stage and make mistakes.( This happened)
3. Working hard is not always fun but will definitely be worth it in the end.

What are you most looking forward to in 2018?
RELEASING NEW MUSIC!!!!!!!!

Favorite music or success quote…
“Nothing good ever came easy”

ARTIST: Lovey James
Song name:
Tricks
Music Genre:: Pop

This song is about seeing through lies and cheats in a relationship. Figuring out that you deserve better than someone who plays tricks on you, and overall calling him out and telling him “that won’t work on me” I wrote the song to let out feelings of frustration that have happened to me over the past dealing with boys and relationships and expressing how it felt finding out when your boyfriend is talking to other girls and how to deal with it.

Music Influences
I love all young female pop artists in the industry. I have so much respect for girls who start out young because they go through it all. Finding a loyal fan base as a female artist can be really challenging because girls are picky about who to fan, subscribe, follow, etc.

The process..
My favorite song writing process is being surrounded by a bunch of brilliant minds who are all coming together to create something awesome. I love bouncing ideas off of each other and just jamming until the puzzle pieces fit together perfectly.

I live in…
I live in Portland Oregon. I spend most of my time in the studio recording original music or covers. Filming YouTube Videos or performing gigs around my city for my fans! I also love being apart of charity organizations and giving back to the community. I have worked with Make A Wish, ChildHelp, ChildCrisis, Candle Lighters ALS Associations, Human Trafficking Preventions and more.
