Vita Chambers on Navigating the Music Business

Vita Chambers musician

I’ve toured with some of the biggest artists and have been steps away from washing my hands of this industry and going to university and getting real job. However, it’s my love for music and my fans that has given me the motivation to dust off my knees and learn from my battle wounds that has led me to where I am now. – @vitachambers

Music business…
Lol. That’s a loaded question for me. I have seen the best and worst of it all. However, it’s a necessary evil. You have to know the game to play the game. I’ve been through a lot in the 6 years I’ve been doing this. I’ve been signed then dropped and then signed again. I’ve had countless managers. I’ve toured with some of the biggest artists and have been steps away from washing my hands of this industry and going to university and getting real job. However, it’s my love for music and my fans that has given me the motivation to dust off my knees and learn from my battle wounds that has led me to where I am now. I am in an independent artist under my own label, releasing my music, co-directing my videos, touring the world and having one hell of a time being my own boss.

Singles vs an album…
I believe that we are in a singles market. Carter to your audience. People like to to pick and choose their music. I can put all efforts behind one song and have people be introduced to me through a compact, short and sweet setting, where they can decide whether or not they want to know more.

Social media…
gives you a platform to the world. I can communicate with my fans and they can communicate with me. We all want to feel connected and apart of something, social media allows us to do this.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
Hippocrates, because I’m a biology nerd and a health nut

I don’t believe in being “trendy” or “current”….
I believe in being authentic. New ideas, great music and breakthroughs were never the products of being “trendy”. Greatness comes from thinking outside of the box and introducing something people have never experienced before.

My favorite music quote or inspirational quote is…
“Here I go again on my own , going down the only road I’ve ever known. Like a drifter I was born to walk alone” … Story of my life lol

I always loved music..
and every night after school, you could find me in my living room trying to match Celine Dion’s notes. It was a site to see. Taking all the steps to become a professional singer felt natural to me, it was my dream.

Artist Accomplishments:
– 6 consecutive #1 Pop songs – USA
– 2 #1 Pop songs – Europe
– Atlas #1 Europe for 4 weeks in a row.
– Juno Nominee
– Teen Fav award Pop Star of the Year.

His Love…
I wrote the song one night, in my room, about someone. I write when I need to figure out my emotions. When I’m frustrated with what I’m feeling, it’s my way of working things out in my head.

My music is a true refection of me…
I want people to feel what I feel when listening to music. I want to give my fans an experience and to have them feel. Music has the power to make people feel connected, powerful, euphoric. That’s what you can expect when you listen to my music.

I live in a city called Hamilton in Canada…
We have a big music and arts scene, it’s like a mini Nashville in my opinion. My best advise is to walk around down town early evening and you will stumble across something new.
