I feel as though the music business is…
extremely political in a major label sense. They would rather stick to helping trendy artists rather than the innovative ones for a bunch of reasons I’m not going to go into detail about it but money is definitely a prime reason. I’d like to remain an independent artist so I’m not really phased by the state of Hip Hop from a major label view. – @Khadeem_H

Pros…
I’ve come across making music for the past 2 years seriously include being able to perform shows, gain a small fan base, know first hand that my music is being heard by people in the industry through emails that I receive, etc.

Cons…
I’ve experienced making music could possibly be the support system at least where I’m from for young artists, and coming across other artists that can be very egotistic etc. I feel as though I’ve overcome these hurdles by always having time for the people who enjoy my music whether that stems from open conversation, or listening to their opinion to improve on what I do. I’ve also made an effort to surround myself with other artists I collab with that aren’t egotistic.

I feel as though it’s important…
to have a steady balance of both, the ratio I tend to use is around 5 singles before releasing a full project but any music that I put out is only made because I wanted to make it. I don’t really follow any guidelines that many people use for showcasing their music. As an example, If I release 8 singles and then I really come across an idea for a full length project I’ll do that as opposed to the usual 5 singles than a project.

I like how easily accessible social media is…
nowadays which makes it way easier to share the content that you make and really build an image. There are no parameters that you have to follow and you are in control of everything you do and benefits you achieve because of that.

I’d love to have 5 min with…
a rapper/producer that goes by MF DOOM. I greatly admire his music and it would be cool to have a conversation with him and get his opinion on certain things.

I don’t think there’s emphasis on being current and trendy…
in music nowadays, everyone has control to do whatever they want. I do feel as though now more than ever many artists are trading their uniqueness to capitalize on whatever is trendy in the industry presently. I have no interest in even finding a balance between what’s being categorized as trendy. I can truthfully say I’m not influenced by any music being made nowadays. Anything that I make that i think is cool is what I continue to make no matter what bracket people want to associate it with.

Favorite Quote… ” Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.”

I got my start in music …
when I chose to take a Music and Computers class that was offered at my high school.

My Music…
You can expect lyrical capability on other songs where I concentrate on topics relevant to my life but also easily relatable, (such as my song called “Society”) and overall just a wide level of uniqueness.

Microphone Manners..
The Premise of the song isn’t any one major category; it’s mostly me breaking down the skill that I believe I have being an emcee through use of metaphors and imaginative comparisons. I recorded it at my friend’s home studio as soon as we finished I feel as though we both new it was going to be a great song.

K-HAM CA hip hop

I live in Toronto, Canada…
and the music scene here is diverse in my opinion but unfortunately everything different from “club/trap” influenced music over shadows other sub genres in Hip Hop. It’s also hard to come by local support for what you do until you’ve reached a certain level in the public eye which doesn’t make things impossible, just more difficult. There’s a couple cool venues that Toronto offers such as The Opera House and Coalition Lounge among many others. When I’m not making music I’m usually skateboarding, I enjoy doing that a lot.
