You can expect dynamic expression….
We live in a place where counter-culture is suppressed, and we try to be an example that where you live doesn’t lock you into a certain belief system or way of life, in hopes that people in similar situations don’t give up hope that they can express themselves. We aim to be brutally honest and compassionate. Our music is meant to illicit thought and self-awareness. We believe a fully educated and aware population is the only way to achieve peace. We love making music and want to do our part to make a better world.

Preachers…
Our inspiration for “Preachers” was people’s tendency to cover up nastiness with niceties. We are forever discussing how “nice” people aren’t always “good” people. The song was written to share the message of the old idiom, “practice what you preach.” The song was conceptualized and recorded in a ping-pong fashion. Maudie framed the song with synths and sketched vocals, then sat on it for a couple months before finally sending it to Jimmie, who added drums and bass. The song passed between both of us a little while until we agreed the time had come to record the final vocals.

We live in West Monroe, Louisiana…
The music market here is small, but there are a couple venues that host live music and local talent. We’ve started to take advantage of Monroe’s central location between larger markets; it is only a few hours drive to New Orleans, Austin, Memphis, and Nashville.

We love building memories with people..
and performing is one of the easiest ways to do so. With that in mind, it’s easy to say we love the music industry. The pros of today’s industry revolve around the growing power of the independent artist, the growing value of innovation, and the advancement of technology. The funny thing is the same list can be considered cons. With the advancement of technology (and the availability of technology), there are so many more people out there making, recording, and sharing their music. It can be daunting to look over the aural sea of independent artists on the internet.

We would love to have 5 minutes alone with Sia…
She is such a brilliant songwriter and performer. More importantly, she appears to be a very genuine human being. We would love to see her natural energy and experience how she interacts with people. We would hope to gain insight into her strength and ability to deal with anxiety while being under the public eye.
