This particular release points me in the direction of Nashville which is where I got noticed by Grammy nominee Dave Moody of the Moody Brothers and Lamon Records Nashville, I will begin working with Lamon in early 2018. I’m looking forward to the opportunity, it’s going to be an interesting journey for sure.

Band Name: Wes Romaniuk and the Ruff Country Band

The Band:
Wes Romaniuk (Rhythm Guitar, lead Vocals)
Jamie Mymko (Lead Guitar, Vocals)
Calvin Skead (Bass, Mandolin, Vocals)
Greg Coombs (Harmonica, Vocals)
Tom Cunningham (Drums)

How do you stay focused and balance creating with life..
I have a hectic life, I operate a pub for a living and our pub is music based so I’m never to far from the music making it a fairly easy balance. I’m not going to say it’s easy to make creating your own music and being part of a band a priority but if you love it, then it’s less like a job and more of something we all look forward to.

What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking?
“Do it for the love of the music” it’s something my father use to say before he passed away.

2018…

Working with a team will be a huge move forward for the band. As with any music opportunity, there’s always a chance that things don’t go as planned but having a positive attitude is of benefit to any situation and setting your goals is important so that when a team is helping you, everyone can get on the same page.

It’s going to be a great year.

New Single: The Blame
Genre:: Country

This song is about…
The Blame is about a bad relationship and having to leave because of it and getting blamed for all that went wrong the song was drawn from my one life experience with My ex-wife.

My music is heart felt and mostly drawn from real life experience.  The focus of the band is country music but we are hitting the blues genre as well as the classic rock genre most of our original music touches on all of these.

I own many guitars but my favorite for song writing guitar is a cheap low level epiphone so I pick the guitar up string a few chords together, I then work the set of chords for a few days sometimes months until inspiration strikes, I start fitting lyrics together drawn mostly from life experience. I’m also inspired by phrases I Hear like old saying and such and most of the time I get a song out of it, some good and some not so good. I usually recycle the not so good ones and make them better.
