It’s fun. Let’s face it, anyone who works in a creative field knows they most likely are never going to make a million-dollar salary. But then again, it’s fun! It’s fun. Let’s face it, anyone who works in a creative field
knows they most likely are never going to make a million-dollar salary. But then again, it’s fun! If I strike a chord in my listeners (“…yeah, I can relate to this”), then I am happy. Bringing the creative energy stored inside out in the open is such a unique experience, you can easily get addicted to it. Music makes you a better person, more centered in oneself and it is incredibly rewarding. What I find to be most rewarding is also what I find to be the most challenging. I love when you can look into an audience and see how the audience is moved or feeling the music. The most challenging experiences in our careers are the emergence of the social networks and the fact that everyone wants to get paid instead of paying for a performance. But that’s a sign of the times and today’s musicians need to come to terms with this. You can borrow from martial arts: Use your “opponents” strength to your advantage.

Dalai Lama. One of his quotes to live by “When we meet real tragedy in life,
we can react in two ways–either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.”

No Matter is the story about hope and stamina.
“No matter what they say, nothing brings me down. And I know, and I know, and I know it’s ok…” When you put your mind to it, there is no obstacle one cannot overcome. When Amanda Dieck agreed to join our forces, I was so happy that I wrote the song for her and her beautiful voice. Initially named “Amanda”, she and I talked what we could express in the lyrics, and kind of “read her diary”, reflecting her life’s story (and of course mine, too).

No Matter

As you can see from our bios we are seasoned musicians that just took a hiatus.
Then the stars aligned again and Atomic Picnic Project came to be. When we uploaded our first songs from the now published album “Raven’s Dance” and “Out of my shell” to outlets like Reverbnation we didn’t expect the positive feedback we received, but of course enjoyed it thoroughly. It appears to us that the audience was waiting for something new and unique, hand-crafted, reflecting experiences everyone had/has and tackling topics that nobody dared before (see e.g., Atomic Picnic the song). from your music or new album. Coming out of modest beginnings, growing up in questionable neighborhoods, but still not succumbing to crime and despair. We needed a springboard or a channel to release the energies built up inside and a chance to escape those environments. And of course, most musicians love’s pain.

Yes, that is often said isn’t  it
It’s powerful when we can take a negative or tragic experience and use that energy to create something. There are quite a few experiences that help to fuel or inspire us in our writing and performance which shall be unveiled also in later music!
