I feel it has lost its luster it once had.
Yes we have a few major acts that still have that IT factor, but I feel like most aren’t giving a 100 percent. I feel as if it has just become a quick come up or a quick way to fame, and too political instead of about the music. I think it’s time to get back to the music. Music with passion and a real story! I think record sells would increase again if we get back to making better music and giving the fans better performances, especially on the hip hop side! @ CB_CountryBoy

GETTING TO KNOW COUNTRY BOY / CB
by Jacqueline Jax host of A.V.A Live Radio
CB aka Country Boy
I feel it has lost its luster it once had.
Yes we have a few major acts that still have that IT factor, but I feel like most aren’t giving a 100 percent. I feel as if it has just become a quick come up or a quick way to fame, and too political instead of about the music. I think it’s time to get back to the music. Music with passion and a real story! This is a tough business!
I have overcome much adversity and obstacle mostly through trial and error. Now being in the business for a number of years we try to strategize everything carefully and efficiently. You can’t plan for everything, there will always be obstacle along the way, but all we can do is work hard and stay positive!
I like the idea of singles.
The good thing about a single is it can lead up or give fans the drive to get the album if you have a hit single or singles.
I like social media and how you can connect directly with fans
instantly around the world. Social media has made it easier to get records, news, videos, gigs and more directly into fans hands. Also social media has become an awesome tool to market your brand for free. You can’t beat that!
Pharrell!
I admire him so much for his body of work and creativity as an artist/producer! I would love to work with him one day or at least have 1 epic jam session!
I definitely feel like they don’t’ take you
as serious if you’re not trying to be relevant with the trends of today. I try to find a good balance in between being current but also creating works that will have longevity!
Don’t make excuses, make a way!
I’ve always been a music lover.
I began to study music and learn to play various percussion instruments in grade school. It was later in High School when I was a part of the drum line in the marching band that I made my mind up that I wanted to take the path of music as my career.
Beast Mode
It’s a song telling my side of the story
from how I came up from the streets into a force to be reckoned with. It’s a song to motivate and empower others to take the bull by the horns and get the job done no matter what it takes!

I wrote Beast Mode at a time when I was getting fed up
with not being taken serious as an artist and wanted to give the fans a real street anthem. This single was featured on my project “The Flood” that was released in April of 2015 that gained me a ton of exposure in the hip hop community. Beast Mode came to me naturally as soon as I heard the track produced by Virginia Producer Matthmattix. I recorded Beast Mode at P3 Studios on a trip to Philadelphia with my Engineer Mal Magik. It’s kind of funny because we had a 2 hour block of studio time to record but had the entire record recorded and pre-mixed in less than 30 minutes. It’s really crazy how this record came together, but I couldn’t have planned it better!
I want to put the realness back into music.
I want to put the heart, soul, and passion back into hip hop especially. This is only the beginning. We are working vigorously to give the fans some truly ground breaking records! I plan on crossing markets and breaking the barriers in the hip hop and music community.
I live in Houston, Tx.
The music scene here is very diverse. There is so much talent in our city. If there was more unity between acts out here though I truly believe Houston could be a major producer of artists like a New York, Los Angeles, or Atlanta.
Great Places to go for Live Music Events would be Warehouse Live, House of Blues, Eastdown Warehouse, Fitzgeralds and more. There are so many local Clubs and Pubs to catch great acts just about any night of the week!
I have recently found a new passion in film making.
I really enjoy making ideas come to life not only through music but now through film as well! I love the freedom of expression of my art.
