The VMAs will air live on MTV from Madison Square Garden in New York on August 28, 2016 at 9 PM EST. This year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominees have been announced and one of our writer, Radio Show Host Jacqueline Jax took to Periscope to see what you were thinking about this years top contenders. Who will you be voting for?

Beyoncé is in the lead with 11 nominations, thanks to her album Lemonade, and Adele follows second place with eight nods.

The Brit popstar’s “Hello,” (which tallied seven nominations alone), BeyoncĂ©’s “Formation,” Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” and Kanye West’s infamous “Famous” music video are all contenders for the prized Video of the Year Award.

Other notable nominees include Rihanna, Calvin Harris (whose ex Taylor Swift won big at last year’s VMAs), Ariana Grande, David Bowie for his last album, Blackstar, and indie favorite FKA Twigs, to name a few.

And Beyonce’s Lemonade isn’t the only visual album up for consideration. Thanks to the Breakthrough Longform Video category, visual records by Florence + The Machine, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and newcomer Troye Sivan also have a chance for an award.

One of this years biggest surprises was that Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ and ‘Out of the Woods’ music videos were overlooked.
