Our intentions are to make our art,
to see the world and meet fantastic people, we really love what we do and fans world wide seems to do that too. We fight for our dreams, we really fight. No talent shows, no competitions or anything else that you get for free, we are 100% hard work. we have been through so much, we have seen both side of the coin for sure and that makes us stronger and more passionate. We are a rock n roll band, a true one, we make art, we do our thing, no autotune, no backingtracks live, no bullshit, just the real deal. And people are screaming for a true rock n roll band right now and we give that too them. its melodic, it’s raw, it got energy, it’s true rock n roll.
It’s mostly me and Jonas (vocals) who writes.
it always starts with a piece of music, like a chord progression or a riff, then we sit down and come up with melody’s and tussle down some lyrics. Then we jam on it, me on guitar and Jonas on drums (he is an excellent drummer and not just a fantastic vocalist)and then we show Niklas (bass) and Tobie (drums) the songs, and then they make it magical.
We are actually in the studio right now recording our debut album,
it’s a blast, it will be a fantastic album and it will hopefully be out in the start of 2017. Matti Alfonzetti is producing it.
Sometimes it’s hard, be out on the road and then get back is the hardest part,
to get back to your ordinary life. Of course, you’re tired and all but that’s not the problem, it’s the time. you need to fill the time with other stuff then travelling, soundcheck, interviews, playing shows, you get everything planned for you, and then you get home and you need to plan it yourself. And of course the longing, at home you miss touring and while on tour you miss home but its no problem. We have found ways to balance it.
We have worked pretty much on stuff like that,
we have done that from the start. We have our fundraising gala that we put up in our hometown Östersund every year, every year we change “subject”/organisation that we collect money too, this year its for an organisation called Kvinnojouren that helps women and children who lives in violent relationships and home. I have also been out to schools around north of Sweden to have lectures about bullying. helping people is an obvious thing to do and that’s what Velvet Insane are about.
1. You need to work really hard to get somewhere!
2. You need to continue to fight when you get the answer “No” from business people because that’s is the word you will hear the most!
3. Don’t think too much, take chances and you will win.
I don’t know, that’s a hard question. I don’t regret anything.
The most important thing is the music,
that’s why we are doing this, that’s why we are looking this way and live this life. It’s all about the music.
I’m not a big fan of social media,
But Velvet Insane got Fb, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and a lot more. And you should check those pages out especially Facebook because you will see a lot of fun stuff from the road and in the studio, mostly pictures of Niklas Laughing. Haha
We live in our hometown Östersund,
the music scene here is kind of boring, just metal and Americana. But I hope it will be more interesting bands coming up, but it’s a fantastic city.
We are recording our debut album in Stockholm right now,
in about 3 weeks we are going to Spain and USA for a short tour and then back home to mix and master the album. We will play at our fundraising concert “Stjärnfall” the 11 November in our hometown, together with some big names in Sweden.
I got one favourite but it’s’ in Swedish “Om det inte går så går det ändå”,
it means like ”If it’s not possible, do it anyway” and was something that a man called Michael Sundèn used to say to me. And I live after that every day. You can succeed no matter what happens, you only need to continue to fight.
Help Me
This song is a pretty new one,
it’s a classic Velvet song with everything that’s ment by that, energy, raw, punky but melodic song with a strong chorus. It started with that riff, and then the chorus and the rest of the music came also pretty quickly. It’s a cool track, and we love playing that one live because the crowds love to sing with us on that one. It’s a powerful feeling. it´s about penfighters and all the hate online, how people lost their minds online.
Not right now, we are in the studio
working on our first full-length album right now, it’s a pretty huge experience for us. It’s the next step.
