Winter at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort

There aren’t to many beach resorts that have the style and charm of the Pelican Grand. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly hospitable staff with welcoming smiles. This resort that sits on the best beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida holds nothing back for it’s guests. The rooms are bright, clean and command amazing ocean front views, as does most of the common areas in the hotel. The resort is well planned with plenty of beach front areas, as that beautiful direct ocean view is certainly a focal point of the adventure. They have a fun lazy river and pool area with lots of beach activities for the family as well as close by shopping. Shortly, I’m told they will have a 5 star spa addition coming in the summer 
time that I can’t wait to try. As a winter escape from the cold, many guests from the mid-west and north east can be found gathered on the outstanding veranda for Brunch or enjoying a drink at the ocean front O2k Lounge. I personally love to be outside, so it was difficult to drag me away from my cranberry pomegranate cocktail sitting under the canopy. At night, I also loved the personal attention I received in the Ocean 2000 dining room where I savored dishes recommended by Manager Chaz Gallo like Crispy eggplant Roulade, Florida Yellowtail Snapper A la Plancha with Saffron Risotto. And for dessert, the 
Emporium Parlor served up tons of home made ice cream and candies. This hotel is like a child’s fantasy but with that old fashioned romantic charm that I don’t see often. It’s the perfect combination of luxury and recreation to provide me with just the right diversion from life’s routine and the cold winter snow. Thank you for making my time at your Hotel so lovely.
