A Day Amongst Martyrs
A day amongst martyrs is an original band based out of Long island New York. Established by guitarist and frontman Adam Ortiz in 2005 and since been delivering powerful and emotionally driven songs. Orchestrated and fueled by life and its trials and tribulations A day amongst martyrs on focuses on telling your story. ” We are all martyrs to our own convictions”. Wether a martyr of heartache, pain or passion listeners will feel connected and acknowledged.
Since 2005 a day amongst martyrs has over gone many evolutions. It wasn’t until spring of 2018 did the music take on a whole different level. Bassist and mentor Charles Wagner joined the group, adding depth and raw power to the music. Along with his deep passion for the arts and delivering 110% to the audience Charles Wagner is a force to be reckoned with. It was soon after in the winter time did the band take off with the joining of drummer Javier Aviles. With his technical chops and percussion savagery this powerhouse has completed all that was lacking and elevated A day amongst martyrs to upper echelon status and will continue to grow for years to come.

My family they have been my biggest supporters. Everyday people who inspire me by letting me see their hearts and their lives enough to write about them.
When I write a song a melody comes to mind then as I strum a chord a word pops in my head and I build on that word and turn it into a sentence then I think about a certain subject and write the rest of the song around that tone. I am in love with my minarik medusa it is my favorite guitar
I live in my mind constantly thinking and dreaming. I spend most of my time trying to make a lasting worth while impression on this earth. The best things in life are worth fighting for and your dreams are no different
This past month I have focused on what kind of role model I want to be to the younger generation and how I can expand on the concept of a day amongst martyrs.
What are 3 things you’ve learned this past year..
1. Never give up cause things will get better
2. An open mind can be a very useful tool
3. If you do not have a sense of humor life will be real hard
What are you most looking forward to this next year?
Right now I’m putting out a new album and recording a new video. There are so many challenges in doing this but I’m up for the task.
