The Heavy Heavy Hearts
(Beau James, Clark Singleton, Anthony Mancini, Ralph Alexander)

I plan to release another solo Americana EP this year…
in addition to the Rock EP with The Heavy Heavy Hearts. The Americana EP I will be releasing will be a snapshot of my years here in Nashville where I have worked to develop a blend of Americana and Rock in my writing and sound.

All of the band members are working artists who have multi-talented perspectives and lives so you’ll see us all doing a lot of different projects this year but then ultimately coming together in Nashville for another production as The Heavy Heavy Hearts.

Nashville…
Currently, I live in Nashville but am relocating to Greensboro, NC this summer. I love the scene here in Nashville because it pushes you to be better. This city is constantly flooded with new people and new music, and as a musician, you have to keep up with all the new bands. This town teaches you how to play to a song as well as write one worth listening to, and turns you into a better musician with every show you see because everyone has their own style to learn from. I am moving to Greensboro to try and help build a strong music community and help prepare new musicians for setting out on the road and trying to break into the industry.

Music business…
I feel that the music business is quickly turning into the Wild West, and I’ve always wanted to be a cowboy. I grew up with the dream that I would be playing in a bar and some record big shot would walk up and hand me a contract and a check, but actually living the dream I have learned that there is no such thing as a free lunch. I have experienced huge ups and downs–getting a taste of people trying to bully you into signing your life away but also meeting the greatest friends who only want to help you make your dreams a reality. So far in my journey, I have signed a record deal, gotten placements in film and TV, toured all over the US, and recently gotten married. The pros in the industry are you get what you give. The cons are that you are on your own in the end. The major pro of the business is it forces you to get organized and act professional or get out. You learn to take responsibility and start chasing it for yourself.

Song name: Dirty Lies
Music Genre/ category : Rock

My music career started with “Dirty Lies.”
This song is about a girl I dated for years who ended up sleeping with my bandmate (who just so happened to be my roommate as well). I moved to Los Angeles shortly after I found out the news and started trying to drink the memory of her away. I met Matt Trivigno at an ASCAP expo in LA, and with his help recorded Dirty Lies and my first EP. I got some session musicians together to record with me, and they ended up liking the music so much that we went on to form our band, The Heavy Heavy Hearts. We quickly developed a following in the LA biker scene and moved to Nashville in 2013 to start touring. After another year together, we all decided to take a break to explore other projects. I went on to release my debut solo album “Indigo Road” in 2015, and shortly after signed to Randm Records, with whom I recorded and released “Landmarks,” the follow-up album. After a few years in the Americana world, the Rock bug has caught up with me again and I will be reuniting with The Heavy Heavy Hearts and will be releasing an EP with them later this year.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with….
If I got 5 minutes alone with anyone it would have to be Ryan Adams. He has a way of writing about heartbreak that helps you as the listener get over it yourself. I would just want to talk to him about how he stays so honest with himself and how he keeps pushing to reinvent himself with each new record.
