GETTING TO KNOW PRIME
by Jacqueline Jax host of A.V.A Live Radio

Challenging himself…
I challenge myself by self motivation. Constantly pushing the bar in everything I do from working out to writing the most complex concepts possible. I am the only one to stop myself so I get out of my own way and allow myself to flourish in the creative energy 100%.

Biggest fear…
I’m not afraid of anything…I already know I will die one day so I’m going to squeeze all the juice out of this body as much and fast as I can before that moment comes. I’ll let God handle it all for me so I can focus on making monumental music.

Success is…
defining my own destiny the exact way I planned it out. Accomplishing the highest levels of mastery within your professional craft.

Proudest moment…
I would say getting accepted by The Recording Academy. It’s the open door into the industry that I am talented in and to be acknowledged by my peers for a great job I’ve done with creating art. It is humbling and flattering to someone who started completely from the bottom and did all the hard work to get better each day. There are still many more accomplishments I have and I seek out every opportunity that presents itself.

Overall goal…
I want to push legislation to express that music is an important part of our lives and must be valued true in comparison to a diamond. I would love to receive an award for all the fields that my music falls into. I want my music to provide the way for my family and friends to grow and become prosperous. I want people to remember me for always giving them the best music I can deliver them that will change one life at a time.

3 ways of challenging myself…
1) Stay focused
2) Be consistent
3) Remain Positive

Start in music…
I was in love with the music since I was a baby. I got started in music around 13. I would just jot down every thought that was captivating to me to put to music. I became fascinated. No one had heard any of my music when I was young, because I didn’t know how people would react to what I would say. I met some other musicians who were awesome in their own right. They said I was dope and we became friends around 17. I was making a lot of motivational music due to at that time my mother was battling breast cancer. So I wanted to use my music to give the people some of my energy. I was writing songs and creating music during this time where I went to pursue an education in media productions in Los Angeles. I went into audio and video production. I took to the road and pursued networking and performing in as many states that would give me the opportunity to rock the mic.

It’s an everyday struggle…
I was working on an album and this became the second song I recorded. I received the instrumental from Game Pro, a producer from Chicago. I had a bunch of great concept lines that I had written around that I just puzzle pieced them together on the topic of what’s going on in our age with the struggle in society. I recorded it with a lot of passion for the youth to know that we must stay together and focused on rebuilding our lives and everything around us.

What to expect…
I’ve done my share of hip hop songs over the years and I wanted to branch off into some R&B. I’m working on a double disc project called “Relationships: The Break-Up & Make-up Deluxe.” I want to keep it in the same line of my style of concept story music. Where there are characters and settings and situations that many people can relate to when it comes to feeling for the one you gain, love, and lose.

Living in Indianapolis…
I’m originally from Southern California born and raised, but I am currently in Indianapolis, Indiana helping to support my mom in her battle with cancer. Here in Indianapolis there’s not much of an over welcoming amount of hip hop , but it’s a healthy amount. Most are into Trap Music. I love to perform in places I’ve never been or lived because it gives that group of people a different sound than what they are use to. I get nothing but praise for my performances, because they are filled with so much passion. Back home I got into almost everything. There is so much to do, see and accomplish in Los Angeles that you never have just one favorite.

The music industry…
I love music. Music is constantly evolving into more complex and entertaining fashions for the masses. More are involved in the building of great music that ever. Business is evolving as well. Coming from many of it’s discouraging pitfalls with the well-being of artists as a respectable profession. Music is still in trouble with the advance of technology and it has to keep up in the “wild wild west” called the world wide web. But it’s a great networking utility. It can allow you to create your own independent movement without some thieving record labels.

Social media…
I love the fact that you can reach out and touch anyone from around the world. Only problem is that it is too open and has allowed people to be people that they may or may not truly be. It can bring out the addiction for making it a necessity in most peoples daily routines. Some want their fantasy to be their reality and their reality to be their fantasy. It’s a great tool that is used for a lot of good and a lot of bad.

Singles vs. an album…
Singles are winning over albums because people’s attention span for an artist shrinks as they come to see the quantity and quality doesn’t measure up. I love doing albums even though all my songs turn out to be singles in the first place. I love giving a whole project or topics and concepts. The game is constantly changing so you want to be ahead of the curve in marketing the best possible way that will attract people to a genuine mission and movement. I market from so many different angles.

Music marketing…
is very important because if you don’t push you will never get heard. You may have to do unorthodox strategies to gain the attention in the best fashion possible. You may have to reach out to the things that you are passionate about first to have that organic connection with your demographic. My theory to marketing is change. Keep changing it up, give them the versatility. There are so many outlets to distribute your music to everyone. I’m open to every option moving forward to find the next groundbreaking culture and lifestyle change.

The creation of the music…
I start my music in so many different ways. Sometimes I will have a thought, a one liner as a topic and I stick with it throughout the whole song. I can also have songs where lines that I may have had sitting around not used or from a prior song in which I feel would fit the particular song in the moment. I may have thoughts I may have recorded on my phone while I probably was sleep that were either funny or interesting so I make it that way. Usually I will have the melody incorporated in with whatever I am speaking about so it makes it easier for me to create the beat. I’ll create the track in every way possible to make the most dynamic track I can make. I use original composition, live instrumentation, and even a sample if it widens the track. For my videos I want the best visual portrayal to my audience.
