I was introduced to music…
when I was a child. I remember my father playing gospel songs from a cassette player. I would hear those lyrics in my dreams and from there, I started to love songwriting. After what felt like a lifetime, I found an opportunity to have my demo created for my songs. It was a bittersweet moment since I was pursuing my dreams after a life-changing loss. I know that my parents would be over the moon for me.

My personal definition of success is…
to be happy wherever you are in life and to be pleased with whatever you have accomplished so far. I am currently taking major steps to make my dreams a reality. I try hard to not let people’s negative comments get to me, since it is unbelievable how critical some people can get about me, even though they never cared in the first place. All I have to say is ‘forget you”.
I challenge myself by…
trying to write what I really feel. I set rules for myself both in relation to my music and to personal life. In terms of music, I challenge to be me and to write like no other, so that one day, when someone hears my song, they would be able to say that Sherry wrote that. Also, as far as my personal life goes, I try to keep a close eye on my health without it I  could not lift a pen.

I most afraid of…
as a child my greatest fear was losing my parents. As an adult that awful fear came true. I am fearless now ,realistic about life, the good and bad.  Grief taught me that…

I am particularly proud of…
getting the demo done for my first song ”Infinity”! Hearing my lyrics set to the music was super cool!

My overall personal and professional goal is…
to be a good person no matter what. Personally, the overall goal would be to maintain a good health and to keep my independence until my last breath. Professionally, I would love to keep doing songwriting! It makes me want to shout ”super cool” all the time. Therefore, when I will be 80 years old, my career goal will still be to write songs that make me say ”super cool”.

In order to move closer to my goal, I challenge myself to…
1] Write what I feel. This way, I learn more about myself and the people who I write about.
2] Accept that the people close to you are not always on your side. The goal here is to not let someone’s lack of support stop me from doing what I love.
3] Be confident, even if I find myself lost on the way to my dreams and on the goal. I bring my dreams one step closer to reality.

I live in Trinidad, West Indies…
there is not much happening on the local music scene since the music here is seasonal and lacks in creativity. If you ever visit Trinidad by plane, you pass through the largest landfill on the island which is called the Beetham landfill. If you come by the so called cruises, you will have the warmest welcome from the armed ”soldiers”. I strongly suggest you visit the rural areas. The best places to go here are the beaches. What I love most to do here is to watch birds. I get up every morning at 5:30 to watch the wild parrots fly over the mountains. I love their freedom. It reminds me of my mother and her spirit.

”Heart On Fire” is…
a song written by me that came from watching a close friend of mine fall in love. When I watched that friend fall in love, I knew it was how I would want someone to feel about me. That friend in question represents everything the song expresses. I am a romantic and I believe in true love. I really feel these things. I hope I do not sound too weird about this, but despite the chaos going around the world, love still exist. The vocalist on this song belongs to the demo producers Paramount Song. The vocalist is super, I wish I knew him. I would love to meet him. Paramount Song, from Nashville also produced the song.

This fall…
I am working on some demos which will be finished around January.

I like the music business because…
It helps me getting honest feedback when I submit my songs. However, the disadvantage of the music business is that you do not get any reply! I still overcome the hurdles and pitfalls of it by getting up, dusting myself off and go .

Social media is challenging because…
it can get a little impersonal. However, I love it because it has definitely opened a world of opportunities for me.

My marketing theory is…
to get heard in every way possible. Music marketing is very important because without marketing, how else would an artist gain exposure?

I would love to have 5 minutes with…
Keith Urban because I would love to ask him about the inspiration behind his song ”Making Memories Of Us”. I am inspired by Keith Urban because there is something in his voice that is genuinely beautiful.
