The Swedish video game commentator, web-based comedian and video producer is better known as PewDiePie and is no stranger to controversy.  He has over 52 million fans making him the number one subscribed person on the channel for his Let’s Play commentaries. His channel has received over 13 billion video views and he was named one of “The World’s 100 Most Influential People” by Time magazine. But he is not without controversy. In September he was at the centre of a firestorm after using the racial slur “n*****” in one of his videos AGAIN. He had previously found himself at the centre of a racism row when he appeared to use the word “n*****” in a video watched by 2.7 million people.

What does Felix Kjellberg make videos about? His “bros” and the collective “Bro Army” wouldn’t exactly call him quiet.

Felix is known for his quirky videos and enthusiasm – read: shouting and screaming. He plays indie games, makes cheeky remarks and is very loose lipped.

Who is he?
Felix was born in 1989 in Gothenburg, Sweden and graduated from university with a degree in Industrial Economics and Technology Management, but in 2013, he had the most subscribed YouTube channel. He currently lives in Brighton with his Italian fashion and beauty vlogger girlfriendMarzia Bisognin with their two pugs, Maya and Edgar. The couple, who have been together since 2011, were introduced over the internet and have been referred to as ‘YouTube’s biggest power couple’.

What is PewDiePie worth?

His total net worth is unclear. But his yearly income from his YouTube channel is staggeringly high considering his low overheads. According to Forbes’ most recent ranking of YouTube stars, he was raking in $15million annually or £11m.

Why has PewDiePie been dropped by Disney?

Disney announced it would be severing links with the Swede over several controversial videos he had released. Some of the videos contained references to Nazis and were found to be anti-Semitic. Among them was one clip in which he paid two Indian nationals to hold a sign saying: “Death to all Jews.”

A statement from Disney subsidiary Maker Studios read: “Although Felix has created a following by being provocative and irreverent, he clearly went too far in this case and the resulting videos are inappropriate.”

How has Felix Kjellberg responded to the Logan Paul suicide video scandal?

Kjellberg branded fellow YouTuber Logan Paul a “straight up sociopath” in response to his “suicide forest” video. In a scathing clip, the Swedish star, 28, slammed his rival over Paul’s controversial video showing a dead man hanging from a tree in a forest in Japan. Kjellberg said he always knew the 22-year-old American was a “jackass” and claimed he was not surprised by the gaffe. He said: “Logan, he’s a straight up sociopath. You know when you’re doing those daily vlog videos and you’re always looking for the next big thing just dangling in front of you. “What’s going to draw in more people to the channel ‘me filming a dead body’ (and) not even hesitating.”
