The music…..
I don’t sell music and actually don’t plan on selling it any time soon. All of my music is free you can check me out at my sound cloud and I would love if you followed me there. You can also download most of my music from here. https://soundcloud.com/ty-brock-music

You can expect alot out of me musically going forward. I plan on taking this all the way. But more specifically, here’s the thing. Often times, when I’m listening to rap music, I find myself having to choose between melody, flow or lyrics. So many rappers these days sacrifice the melody of a song to say something meaningful. Or vise versa. Back in the old school days of hip hop, it was all about what you said. Now it’s about how you sound. I aim to tie the two together. I make music that I like to listen to. Something that goes hard but also has something to say, and I’m really proud of that.

Song name: Another one
Music Genre/ category : Rap
Another one, to me, is another step towards my goals. Another one really delivers on a cold vibe of ambition. That’s really important to me as an artist. It’s something I talk about alot. There’s a couple moments in this song where I get political, and I’m not very subtle about it.

At the end of the day, though, I see music as entertainment. No one wants to hear a song that just preaches the wrongs of the world to them, on the other hand at least from my point of view, no one wants to hear a whole lot of nothing from an artist. I try to find the right balance. In short, another one is another step to where I’m headed.

I live in a small town near Sacramento, California…
There isn’t much of a music scene where I’m at. You’d have to go to sac to get anything like that, and even there there’s not much. The people around me are much more concerned with more materialistic and linear passions and desires. Like who’s buying the coolest car or who’s going to the best college. Never been my thing but I’ve learned to accept and respect it. I’m all about good vibes.

Music business…
I’ve been doing this in my room man. Only recently have I actually had the opportunity to reach out and interact with companies and platforms such as this. I’m 18, been doing this for a while though. Passionately dedicated since 16, writing and rapping my whole life though. Just started to get the ball rolling a bit. A long road ahead of me still, and I know things take time. But I’m very optimistic of my future, I’m confident in my content and have really enjoyed having discussions with other artists and companies this far, you meet a jerk every once and a while but that’s life.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
Some one I’d like to have be able to have a discussion with.. tough. I’m my own man and have my own vision. With that being said, it’s hard for me to really think about it. I’m also an introvert to some extent, so that probably plays a roll too. This sounds cliche and he’s dead so I’m not going to use it, but it’s worth saying that I would love to have a conversation with Kurt Cobain. I respect that man greatly. Who’s alive though.. and in rap? Probably Wiz. Wiz Khalifa.

Grew up on his stuff. I feel like those two people may sound like a huge contrast but they both inspired me so much. I grew up smokin, selling, and ditching school listen to him with my friends. Great times. The thing is though, I saw all they liked him for was the weed, it goes so much further than that for me. He raps about everything I ever dreamed about. When I grew up, hearing about that life, relating to the ambition, seeing my friends around me have none of that, it really drove me to make music.
