Music business…
That’s just it, the music business is a business… it has changed so much these days! Albums selling, going platinum or even gold is a rare and becoming a thing of the past. For example Riri (Rihanna) had the number one album in the country and she only sold about 17,000 copies that week. That is horrible! The only way to stay ahead of this game is learning to adapts to it as the changes happen.

What pros and cons have you experienced…
The Only Pro’s I can say about the way the Music business is now days is for people who don’t know? I has gotten a lot cheaper to market and promote a project. Yes you heard right! I have been in this business for a while and have help a lot of people succeed and contributed to their success. Back in the day, you had to pay an arm and a leg to Press up vinals, do cover work, and it cost an arm and a leg just to send out your music to the DJ’s. These days you can do all that with just a simple e-mail because vinals are slowly becoming a thing of the past.

One of the major cons that I see to this is… it has gotten so simple now to put out music that almost anyone and everyone can release projects and songs that it has saturated the market. So in order to get your music across, you have to do a lot more work and your grind has to be extra heavy. I have no problem with that, so I am ready to do this one for myself this time around.

The only way to over come the hurdles and pitfalls of this business, is to never ever let anyone discourage you. If your heart is telling you that you are on to something… STAY WITH IT! Believe in yourself first!

Social media…
is cool, only problem with it is that they become obsolete real fast. One day they are the hottest and then the next they are not the same anymore, changes make them not as useful. Perfect example… Facebook was the place to promote and get results not too long ago. But now, with all the changes and ads, algorithms and so on… it doesn’t get you the same results, even if you pay for advertising. Even Twitter, is becoming almost a thing of the past. Now we have instagram, Snapchat… All of those avenues and channels are hard to stay on top of. But if you want to stay relevant you need to adapt as fast as they come in.

There are challenges to overcome every day….
I mean, what fun would it be if it was all peaches and easy… I like challenges so I don’t mind, because when you do succeed it gives you a sense of achievement.

How do you feel about releasing singles vs an album…
I like releasing singles right now as I build the album. This way I promote as many songs as I can for the album and grow with my fans and audience. I can tell you this tho, on a few of the song that will be on my album, you will not hear me on the record at all. I will be behind the production and writing but will get other talented artist to convey the message I am trying to bring to my audience and fans. I am taking a totally different approach.

These days, if you are not an artist with the majors with Major marketing dollars that can get you on shows like Ellen, and majors Tv morning shows like good morning America and so on, it will be next to impossible to go platinum. A lot of times even when majors do pull those cards it still doesn’t work. “THE GAME DONE CHANGED.”

This is why my marketing strategy is to use almost every single social media avenue available to me, and I will make sure I get creative with my projects. For example, my ‘itty bitty bum bum” single is basically telling women that! These days… it doesn’t matter if you were born with, or you feel like you have no booty, as long as you are willing to put in some work towards it. You can accomplish wonders with your body without having to go under the knife and so on. This is the main reason why I felt like I needed to touch on this matter and team up with two young up and coming artist for it. A young 21 year old rapper and a 21 year old female fitness trainer who happens to sing. Everything in that song now fits and we have a package and a brand for it.

I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
One of my favorite rappers of all time. METHOD MAN! This dude has one of the best styles and delivery ever. Growing up I wanted to be him and tried to rap like him. It motivated me to learn new words daily. It’s crazy! I would love to find out how he came up with his style and methods and style… trust me when i say, f you don’t know about Meth, then you better ask somebody because “WU TANG CLAN AIN’T NUTTIN TO F**K WITH.”

Do you find that there is to much emphasis on being current and trendy or Is there a balance that you have found helpful in your artistic decisions…
That is a fact! If it’s current and trendy then people judge less… but if it’s different and new, then everyone becomes a critic and knows music more then you do automatically. Music has transformed so much in such a short period of time that it’s hard to believe.

I am most afraid of…
never succeeding but it’s never going to stop me from trying, and going hard because I believe in myself. I am not afraid of failing, because I can always get back up when I fall! Do you see what that does? It puts me in a constant loop of try and try again and Success is my “ONLY OPTION.”
My success may be different then what everyone else is….
Success to me is achieving all the goals I set out for myself in this lifetime. I want to become a voice for others who have no voice or those who don’t know how to use their voice.

My over all goal for my life & career is…
To be able to help the next generation achieve their goals and teach them the proper steps. This way I can sit back and enjoy the ride with the next generation of up and coming talent as they become successful using the steps and foundation I laid out for them.

3 Ways that I challenge myself and how each one moves me forward towards my goal.

1) I try to be the best dad I can be to my kids. Showing them instead of telling them keeps me grounded.

2) Telling myself everyday that there is always room for improvement and learning to grow.

3) I have failed several times by giving up and for some reason, i always seem to get back up and pick myself up and say this is not the end of me. I will die trying to achieve what i know i was meant to do. I know in my heart that i was destined to do bigger and better things in this world.

During my years in High School…
I began getting involved in Music, I started a small business where I would DJ family and friends weddings. I did that for a few years when I became bored with it, I added Video service to it and was now able to film to shoot, film and edit the wedding videos. By the time I was a Senior in High school, I started a small music production company making beats and recording local talent.

Itty Bitty Bum Bum…
The song is all about fitness, we are using the message to help build ladies confidence and give them the motivation to work towards getting the body they’ve always dreamed of. No need to go under the knife these days and risk your life, people die from surgery complications, implants go wrong all the time so let’s get you ladies to put in the work and do it naturally.

It’s funny you ask the story “BEHIND” the song… literately I got the idea for the song because of an actual “BEHIND”. Quite honestly, I was watching Selena the movie with JLo and My goodness…. that’s all I can say. In one scene where her character was on the lawn of her house and her husband came home and they were talking about having kids and so on…. The “BEHIND” on her in that shot, CHANGED my view of the female body forever..

What type of interview is this???? You know you guys are worse then me, asking these type of “PUN INTENDED QUESTIONS RIGHT”? Now you want a “Back Story”? OK, I can dig it… well this song is all about fitness for ladies, working out and giving them confidence to get that ultimate booty, and when they get it, I am going to take it upon myself to have them compete for all my fellas out there who love a great booty and fit body like I do. Seriously, I have no idea what is wrong with me these days… Either I am having what is considered a midlife crisis or women of the world have changed evolved like crazy these days. They have discovered the power of Chicken, squats, leggings and now it’s a damn booty epidemic going on. But, guess what? I am not complaining at all. I am what you may call a proud “ALL ABOUT THE SEXY BOOTY ON A WOMAN MAN.”

If I can get this song to everyone I know it will be received very well…
and just wait and see what I do with the official music video. My music is meant to inspire, give people confidence, make you wanna sing along and enjoy life. I make fun songs so you can expect me to have all type of fun with the production and delivery. For the full album, I plan on showcasing unsigned talent in the New England area, talent who would never get a chance to do anything in the business the way it is meant to be done. Since I am a producer and writer, you can expect to hear a lot of music from variety of artists under my label in a different genres who we are planning on singing.

I live in the Boston area…
and the music scene has completely changed around here. If you are not an underground artist, the chances of you making any type of Buzz, especially when you have no idea what to do is slim to none. Why? Because, they are only national major radio stations out here now who only play the majors. We did have a College station but they too changed their format. So it’s time for a new strategy.

I love getting in the studio to record, other then that… There are a few clubs and venues to attend, but i have grown out of that club scene! Unless i am being paid to be there, i rather be at home, relaxing, on my laptop, planning and making moves.

I have had so many close calls in this life and for some reason I feel like the all mighty has bigger and better plans for me. So I accept the responsibilities and I go hard everyday. NEVER GIVE UP ON WHAT YOU BELIEVE, AND NEVER STOP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF. If you can not believe in yourself, then no one will ever believe in you.
