The music business is a lot of work…
I thought it would be easy to just put my music out on social media and people will like it but its so much more than that. Building an audience and making sales, its like running a corner store or a clothing store business is business, but what doesn’t challenge you will not make you better. I feel I made the right decision on learning to do business along with my music instead of just depending on talent alone. The pros of the business is that there is no salary cap on what you could make, making it an ideal business to be in. The cons are that you have to treat it like a business investing in the right moves creating connections and being your own manager until you make it mainstream. Perseverance is what separates real artist from the fake ones.
Social media…
Social media is a great way to connect with fans find new fans and brand yourself. But its not the only way to put yourself out there.
Singles vs an album…
Talk about the differences in your marketing strategy to support your preference. I would much rather release at least 2 single before releasing my album. It helps build a buzz around your project instead of hoping for results you can make them happen with the right strategy. If someone likes the single you release they will want to hear more music creating an urge to buy instead of getting it all at once and having to find a song they like out of your 15 track album.

Great question there are so many people you can learn from in the music business but if I had to choose it would be Jay-z. He started his label for nothing and is now worth millions I would like to know hurdles he face and what he did to get over them and make himself who he is today.
You can never be to current or trendy…
that’s what all artist are looking for the next trend to the point where most of them create them. Being trendy tips the scale in the artist favor making him an ideal person to make music and go on tour with.
I am most afraid of…I used to be afraid of failure but in this business to fail is to learn and I like learning how to become a better artist.
My personal definition of success is..
to wake up and do what you love doing instead of doing what you have to do. One day I promoted my music and got a distribution deal with iTunes unsigned, it made all the blood sweat and tears I put into making my music all wroth while. To be contacted by people who like what they heard and saw, lets you know you can be somebody if you continue the grind and keep your work ethic. It a wonderful experience to have such a trendy company behind you.
My over all goal for my life & career is…
To Become one of the greatest people to do what I do…. Whatever that may be.
3 Ways that I challenge myself and how each one moves me forward towards my goal.
-1. I find ways other than social media to promote my music so work and some doesn’t but I learn where to go if I need to get my single buzzing.
2. I pride myself in making timeless music anything less than that is not wroth my time being the best in my eyes makes me a better artist.

I grew up listening to…
influential artist such as tupac, biggie nas, dmx and jay-z. There were also local artist in my town that I looked up to. I got into music seriously at the age of 20 and started recording with my brother but I was writing and rapping long before then because of the influence the hip hop culture had on me
I’m On It…
Even though I did’nt write this song, I recorded the song based on the feeling I had for it. The beat spoke to me so I called my friend at the studio and we got the song done asap. I told him to let the beat play and I just did what I always did and that was freestyle going back to my roots on how I started doing music. I admit I was a lil’ nervous but the song came out great. Till this day I like this song because it is me speaking to my fans instead of writing a song that maybe people will like, it’s the real me.
If 1 million people hear my music…
I want it to be heard 1 million different ways. I make music not only because I like to write freestlye and record, but to speak on my life good or bad. You can expect great music from me because I’m not a one dimensional artist I like to write about a lot of different things and I like for every song to have it own unique style and sound. I put a lot of effort into making timeless music. The album is called “YFK” (Young Fly King) and its more like and introduction album for who I am and who I’m working to be.
I live in Western NY…
The music scene is great there are a lot of talented people here. I worked with a lot of artist here before I furthered the record label my brother started called silent rize entertainment. I took an independent approach because I wanted to more than just another artist on my local scene. To me fun is recording great music, but from time to time I go out to eat with friends and hit the clubs and bars loving the nightlife.
