“Success to me is inspiring others and giving others something to reflect upon. Playing music is a success, it’s an escape, a relatable sense of creativity, an expression and reflection. The in between of success is what makes it an adventure.” – Kristofer Jedd  @kalscopehall

Success…
to me is inspiring others and giving others something to reflect upon. Playing music is a success, it’s an escape, a relatable sense of creativity, an expression and reflection. The in between of success is what makes it an adventure.

In The Beginning…
The two of us grew up around music from day one. Music has influenced who we are, we want to create and share our sounds with whoever is interested. Living with supportive friends and family just fuels our passion. Ben and I met through a summer job where we found that our influences and taste were similar. We started writing original work and haven’t stopped since. Sounds are a reflection of shared senses and experiences. It truly is a universal language that allows a universal connection. We listen/study music from jazz, rap, blues, electronic, classical, rock n’ roll, almost anything and everything. The amount of music that there is to listen to in our time is incredible so we gather influence from all over the map of musical genre’s. It’s all about creating and sharing for us we want to produce our music and present it in a professional way.

Fake Sunshine…
The song “Fake Sunshine” could be interpreted in many ways. I like to think it means something different for every individual. For me it’s about the harsh and beautiful reality of moving on past traditions, people, places and things that have false representations yet still being able to hold on to those roots. A balance of letting go and holding on to the past and present.

New Hampshire…
We live in the mountains of New Hampshire! The music scene is very undeveloped and low key. It’s difficult to find places to play especially at our age. Yet if you look hard enough there is an exciting scene of local talent and bands that have a very distinct sound. There’s this little college cafe called Hole In The Fence, they host open mic’s once a month. That’s a great opportunity for us to play/jam/collaborate with others ect. Also Dollar slice day is quite an attraction for starving artists. In the summer when we’re not playing shows and writing we like long walks on the beach and long boarding into the sunset. The long winter’s here kind of force us into hibernation which can drive us crazy but can be great for spending time on writing new material.

Making Music…
Sometimes the two of us write separately and get together to record in our basement studio (Wolf rd records). Since there are only two of us we have to be multi-instrumented. We switch around roles of who plays guitar, bass, drums, vocals and such. In terms of influence, it’s sporadic. It’s everything from what the day was like to what we listen to and what we experience overall. We’ve been making the best out of the equipment we have which is a ZOOM H4N recorder and garageband.

BIO:
Kaleidoscope Hall is currently a two piece band from a small no name town in NH. The members are Kristofer Jedd age 18 and Benjamin shultz age 15. We’re constantly creating new demos in our home built studio, Wolf rd records with very limited recording equipment. With influences from nearly every genre we like to think of our sound as a food truck that doesn’t know what kind of food it’s selling. We are in the process of making an EP leading up to a debut Album. Thank you very much for your time and consideration, here are our links to facebook, twitter, soundcloud and indiegogo.
