I wish I had had more faith in my ability as a singer and an artist. I wish I hadn’t tried to be perfect or waited till I had the perfect skin, teeth, look, I wish I had just felt comfortable enough in my skin to believe that I was good enough and that everyone would see that- @brogan_kelli

I wish I had had more faith in my ability as a singer and an artist.
I wish I hadn’t tried to be perfect or waited till I had the perfect skin, teeth, look, I wish I had just felt comfortable enough in my skin to believe that I was good enough and that everyone would see that.

I am in Melbourne Victoria.
We are preparing for all the Christmas spectaculars. There are parades in the city, concerts, Christmas Carols by Candlelight etc. I love this time of year because not only do the artists that are well known give up their time for charity concerts and events but people everywhere come together to celebrate and give back with music.

I’ve Been Through It All

The lyrics to this song were written by myself and Mr Michael T Roberts (USA) via Facebook. Michael is truck driver that loves to pen poetry. He sent me a copy of one of his poems and then we collaborated on it changing, adding and deleting until the song was complete. It is one of my favourites on the album. I am so grateful to Michael for connecting with me on Facebook and for being willing to sharing a part of himself with me. He is a very talented poet and now lyricist.

This song is so easy for people to connect with,
no matter your background, culture etc. It is one that we have all experienced and I think it is also a song of hope and inspiration.

I am hoping to have a least one music video out early next year, if not a couple.
I will definitely have lyric videos up by the end of the year, but you will have to wait a little longer for the video.

The debut album will be available on all digital platforms
for download and streaming and physical CD’s will also be available through my website and SCL Records to start with. At the moment you can also get a digital copy on my website. I would love to hear what everyone thinks of the album via social media or my website.

Currently, I am in the process of putting together a great show for fans.
My band and I had a trial run at my album launch to see how things would go. It wasn’t bad, there was a lot of positive response there. You can check out some of those videos on my Facebook page, but I want my fans to have an even bigger experience so we are working on better sound, lighting etc. I want to give my fans the best that I can offer and nothing less. I love performing live so I want my fans to love being apart of it and sharing in the experience with me.

Life and music can sometimes be quite difficult to balance.
I currently have a full-time job as a school teacher, I am helping my Mum as a carer for my Granddad and I have been performing and recording my now finished album. Sometimes there is not a lot of time to sleep but anything worth doing is never easy and with the support of family and friends, and determination anything can be achieved.

I am very passionate about kids and their future.
I am an activist for giving kids as many experiences as possible so that they can choose who and what they want to be. I believe that the children of today shape the future of tomorrow and without our help to encourage their curiosity, guidance in making good and bad choices and giving them the chance to become life-long learners then we are not allowing them to excel and reach their full potential. Anything that hurts a child or stunts their creativity is not something that I want to see in the world. I believe that as adults we have to be the protectors and advocates for children all over the world, for they hold the future and the hopes for what the world can be in the years to come.

Number one: Make sure you learn as much as you possibly can before starting
or as early on in your career as possible. This way you will be prepared to tackle anything and you will know if you are working with the right people or heading in the right direction.

Number two: Promotion and building a following is one of the most important things
you can do for your music. Don’t underestimate the power of being yourself. No one can do it better than you.

Number Three: Your performance has to be better than the recording.
No point spending a whole lot of time writing and recording an album if you can’t back it up with an unforgettable performance. That’s what your fans will remember not the recording. It’s how you make them feel and the experience that you give them that they will remember you most for.
