I decided I wasn’t going to let people take advantage of me anymore. This song just sort of happened, I didn’t plan on writing it. I was playing the guitar and watching a movie and then I ended up with “No More.” It’s about not taking crap from anyone, and putting yourself first. My start in music…
When I was younger I used to go over to my neighbor’s house to play. They had a piano there, and they were always playing classical music on the radio. One day I sat down at the piano and started to play, that’s where it all began. After that I started playing everything I heard, and eventually started writing my own music.
The music scene in New Jersey…
There isn’t much of a music scene here in my area. There used to be a lot of venues where local bands would play, but most of them are gone now. Since I live so close to NYC, sometimes I’ll do shows there, but it’s kind of a pain in the neck to trek out there with equipment and parking being so hard. The one thing I really like doing is playing live shows. I love getting up there and having a good time and playing with the band.
Social media…
I think there are good and bad sides to social media. Obviously you have to be careful what you say or post, because it’s there on the internet for everyone to see. I think that it’s made it a lot easier to promote yourself as an artist, and I think it’s helped artists connect much better. It’s made a lot of thing easier than before, like getting your music out there and raise awareness about it.
Music Influences…
I have so many artists that I look up to and that have influenced me and the songwriter/singer that I’ve become. I was brought up on oldies, like the Beach Boys, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Etta James, and The Jackson 5 just to name a few. I love everything about old music, I love the harmonies and the vocals, I love the lyrics. More recent artists that I really respect are Christina Aguilera, Sam Smith, Sia and Michael Bublé. I really respect how different their music is, and how they’re not afraid to be themselves. When I was in high school I saw a Christina Aguilera concert and I fell in love with her music, her sound, and how different it was.

Music Trends…
I don’t really pay attention to trends, I pretty much just play the music I want to make. I feel like it’s more important to be true to yourself and the music rather than try to conform to fit in.
My personal definition of success…
I think you’re successful if you’re happy with what you’re doing and you haven’t compromised yourself or your integrity as a person and artist.
Allie Harte, 26 year old New Jersey resident, started music at an early age. She began playing piano by ear at the age of four, and progressed to writing her own music complete with lyrics, as well as singing. In school, she became interested in Musical Theatre, and went on to perform in many shows.
