I am very optimistic and happy with the music scene.
Some artists complain that the industry has changed and that the major record labels control all distribution. I feel the exact opposite. Yes, the business has changed significantly, however, I feel that it has changed for the better for independent artists.

The pros of the music business are that independent artists
are able to record and distribute their music at a lower cost and utilize social media to gain fan support. Honestly, as of yet, I haven’t experienced any cons of the business.

As human beings, we all experience struggles,
it’s simply part of our lives. For me personally, acceptance of a struggle or challenge is the first step in dealing with it. From there, I look at my options, (if any), educate myself, utilize industry experts, such as A.V.A. and move on.

I would love 5 minutes alone with singer-songwriter Patty Griffin.
Her music is raw, organic, and honest. Her music helped me through a tough time in my life recently. I have just recorded a song paying tribute to that inspiration titled “Patty Jean” that will be released soon.

I started playing music after being inspired by a song “Life by the Drop”
written by Stevie Ray Vaughan. As a result of that inspiration, I decided to pursue a career in music by studying, practicing as much as possible, and joining bands as a lead guitar player.

Same Conversation

The song idea came about earlier this year (2016),
at the time I started writing music for my recently released album and connected with a childhood friend. The song tells the story of that connection, our love of music, and how our friendship essentially remained the same after not being in contact for many years and hadn’t changed, thus the title, Same Conversation! Recording the song was a very organic process that took on a life of its own as we recorded it (as most of the song’s on the album did). The cool aspect of the song, is that it is only made up of my acoustic guitar, Phil Bass on percussion, and Haydn Vitera on electric violin both of Austin,TX.

Listeners can expect a wide range of genres and musical influences from the album:
Singer-Songwriter, Blues, Country, Pop, Southern Rock, Americana, and World music. From the very beginning of writing this album, I feel very confident, that the lyrics are the album’s greatest strength. More specifically, the lyrics are very honest, and there is a song that most people of all ages can relate to.

I am currently living in Washington state
and really haven’t been involved in the local scene, but plan on touring soon.
