GETTING TO KNOW TIMMI BURRELL

A few cons in the music business that I have experienced,
are having to the pay for your music to be played. Often up and coming artists are over looked in the industry. A new artist has to work very hard to make it into the spotlight.
The pros that I have experienced in music are being able to use social media to create a fan base and get my music streamed far and wide. I have also meet a lot of good people my doing music.
I turn my struggles…
into triumphs by finding the positive in every negative.
If I had five minutes with an artist…
I would choose R. Kelly. He has been an inspiration to me in many ways. The same energy that he displays in his performance and his deliverance inspires me. I admire how he is so consistent in the industry. R. Kelly is an artist that have managed to keep a large fan base that continues to follow him throughout the years.
My inspiration to begin doing music was at the age of 16.
I attended a talent show where you had to pay to go on stage. At the time, I had no money and it was one of the bouncers that believed in me and allowed me to preform for free. Once I got on stage and heard the response from the audience I knew this was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
“Bump & Grind”
“Bump & Grind” is a track that expresses intimacy between a man and a woman.
While on the dance floor the man spots a woman dancing. As he watches her, she moves her body provocatively in the middle of the dance floor. It’s basically a track for my female fan base. Something that they can move their bodies so to and have fun.

From my future album you can expect a more mature Timmi Burrell. The new songs that I am working on are geared more to my female audience and have a soulful sound. The great thing about the album is that listening to it puts you in a cheerful and uplifting mindset.
I currently reside in Hamden, Connecticut…
The music scene in and around Hamden is very diverse. There are several lounges and restaurants they play live bands during the week and on weekends. During the summer months, you can find concerts that are held on the town green. There is a place called “Toads Place”, which is a club that host many well know artist as well as local artists. The club uses local artist to open-up for the well-known artist at Toad’s Place, which helps artists to get exposure.
I feel good about the music business…
The music business makes me feel very optimistic. I feel that it is a business that over the year has evolved.
Social media…
With the rise of social media it has allowed the music to go far and wide. A lot of the well-known artists these days have been discovered through social media.
