THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I don’t think anyone was more excited than I when I heard the news that Chipotle released its secret Guacamole recipe.  Chipotle’s guac has long been the best guacamole I have ever had. And, believe me, I have tried many.  There is just something about it that sets it apart from all the rest.

After hearing the news, I immediately went out and bought all the ingredients.  At first I was a little skeptical about the jalepeno but it gave the guac a really nice kick.  The recipe was super easy to make and only took about 20 mins. The end result was totally worth it and tasted just like Chipotle’s guac.  If I can make it taste delicious anyone can.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe Hass avocados
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 jalapeno, including seeds (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Cooking:

Choose the right avocado. It should feel squishy yet firm (like the palm of your hand), and be a nice dark green color on the inside.

Cut the avocado in half and the remove the pit (carefully!) Scoop the avocados and place in a medium bowl.

Toss and coat with lime juice. Add the salt and using a fork or potato masher, mash until a smooth consistency is achieved.

Fold in the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Taste the guacamole (over and over) and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Let me know if you attempted to make the recipe and how it tasted!
