I live in Atlanta GA. The music scene is very diverse, Hip Hop, Trap Music, Dance music etc. It’s flourishing but with that comes a lot of competition. You’ve got to hit the ground running and stay aggressive to keep in the game.
Creating music…
When I listen to a beat, it tells me the story I need to write. I just let my imagination run free and the story comes.
As far and choosing and using equipment you just have to start somewhere and develop your skills to make that vision come to reality.
To do well in music, stick to your core and what you believe in. Don’t change your truth mid-way through. Once you work hard to perfect your craft, keep bringing that to the table so people can look forward to what you produce and anticipate more of what they love.
What defines “Success” to you..
Success to me it creating something and seeing it flourish so I’m working every minute at improving my skills and developing my music. Hip hop being such an ultra competitive market means that even if you bust a move you still need be authentic and unique to come out on top. My music is a reflection of me. I’m a realistic roll playing lyricist. My music is the life I live, I share it with the world every time I upload a new piece of work.
What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking..
Watching Russell Simmons, people Like Jay-z. The advice they gave was more in their actions. It’s not about who’s going to let me make my music, it’s more an attitude of who’s going to stop me from making music.
