His musical journey began early with just a handheld recorder rapping and recording verses to share with his family.

That spark would soon grow into a flame getting his software and teaching his self to engineer his own songs.

Vanity was born in Greensboro, North Carolina in the early ’90s. At the age of five, he moved to New Jersey where he attended kindergarten then returned down south to NC for the majority of his childhood. Spending time up North and down south allowed him to experience a wide range of musical influences that would help mold his sound and style.

“Music is my canvas to create art. I always go there when something is on my mind,” says Vanity.

Now he’s in a professional recording studio full-time working with producer/engineer Sonny King at Skymount Studios perfecting his craft and recording his first major release. With his first single “I Won’t Miss” and follow up “Speak it into Existence” Wyze is sure to leave a mark on the industry that won’t soon be forgotten!

Who has been the most influential in your music and why?

Music in general has been most influential. Music has so many different genres, with hip hop and r&b being my favorites. I love the rhythm & instrumentals.

When did you know that this was the right path for you?

When I first recorded in a professional studio, once I had my first song mixed and mastered. I felt a tingle down my spine, a joy, a fulfillment.

What do you like most about what you do?

The ability to get my thoughts out. It’s like an intake and release of energy. Same deal with humans receiving oxygen from the trees and green life in return giving back.

What do you most hope to accomplish with your influence?

I intend to inspire people to be creative.

What is the biggest obstacle you have faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

Jail for DUI’s. I realized that alcohol was not a necessity for my life and that I needed to stop to transcend to the next level.

It started as a party thing than it became a normal thing. But I have realized that even though the world glorifies drinking in almost every movie and almost all social events I don’t have to, besides I’m better without it.

What do you want people to remember most about you and your career?

I’m just a humble kid from Greensboro, NC that just wanted to make his family proud. I love health, nature, meditation, deep conversations, and hot tea 🍵.
