The music business…
both disgusts & inspires me. It’s definitely a complicated business that can eat you up if you don’t know who you are. However, I have a wonderful team of friends & family who will hold me accountable if I start to lose myself. Honestly, I don’t really feel too afraid of that though. My faith keeps me from really allowing myself to get caught up in the small stuff. Fame is a fleeting thing that so many people chase… for me, as much as I want my music heard, if it isn’t moving people then I would rather not do it at all. I don’t let my mind get stuck on something like fame because I could lose my artistry or heart for the music. I’ve had my fair share of slamming doors & let down, but I am not a quitter. When you have a message to share with the world, you’re going to have to fight for it.

JESUS!!! HAHA!…
I have so many questions… mostly why did God make Spiders?! Like WHY! Haha just kidding… But on a serious note, I would LOVE 5 minutes with the boss! Bruce Springsteen! He’s my hero! His ability to not only entertain but tell a story is like no other. I strive to know my craft & myself as well as he does. He has stayed true to his music since day one, that inspires me. He never gave up.

Original…
The story behind the song: Original is the title track of my new album. This song is close to my heart because this song is a part of my story. I have a life threatening medical condition & am an advocate for kids with special needs. I was a camp counselor to a little girl named Aeverie one summer, I had already began the pre production for my album at that time. After I met Aeverie I wrote Original, because watching her for that week was like watching my young self growing up with the same condition.

I saw the fear & yet SO much strength in her. I saw the struggle of what it was like to always be different. She inspired me to write the song because I just wanted a way to tell her that she wasn’t alone, that its going to be okay, & that its a beautiful thing to be unique even when it feels like a curse. After I wrote the song I played it for my producer & it was like all of the pieces fit together. We knew that “Original” not only needed to go on the album, but it was the exact message I wanted to send to people who heard my debut album. I wanted listeners to feel understood & just like little Aeverie, I needed them to know that its okay to be different.

When you hear the album & this music I’ve written…
you can expect to hear all of the emotions this life can throw at you. You will hear stories of love, heartbreak, being confident in who you are even after someone has tried to break you, stories of faith, stories of people who have touched my heart, but mostly you can expect to hear the reoccurring message of getting back up & believing even after life has knocked you out. I want my listeners to know that its okay to not be okay sometimes, I hope my music makes their bad day a little easier.

The people who have told me that my music helped them get through are literally the reason I do what I do.

I am from Los Angeles…
so the music scene is a very big thing here. You can really get a little bit of everything. There is so much versatility & I really love that.
