If You Sell Your Soul to Him (Forgive Us, Father!)…
This song has actually quiet an interesting and long story! It was created many years ago when i was still living in my country, but it had a completely different meaning and purpose. About a year ago I went through a big change that influenced my lifestyle and changed most of my views and opinions. Before that life changing experience I was one of those artists who sang mostly about physical needs and desires, obsession, sensuality, and stuff like that, which you often hear on the radio these days. In 2016, I pulled this song out of a drawer and, while creating an arrangement, I thought it would be cool to do something different. So, I’ve changed the structure, and the old chorus has now become an extended bridge. Then I recorded vocals but still couldn’t seem to finish it for some reason. Well, I guess it was meant to be, because at the same time I was in the process of getting to know God and Christianity. Of course, after I let myself get converted, I realized there was no way I wanted to keep on singing the lyrics I had recorded. I had to write new ones. And I remember, at the time, I was very concerned about all the events that had been happening worldwide: events of political, social, and environmental character. So I had something else to say! The outcome turned out to be a total reflection of my emotions and state of mind at that particular point of my life. The purpose was to write something that people could relate to, without it being a typical love story or a gospel worship song.
Currently I am working on my first EP…
The title is still in question but I wouldn’t like to reveal it at this point. I would say, however, the album itself is very controversial and very personal. It is about the constant battle between darkness and light within the human soul and within the world itself. If my first single “If you sell your soul to him” was quite straight-forward and general, my other songs will be more revealing and confessional. I would dedicate this to my own transformation into Light and the purpose of it is to encourage other people who feel lost, hurt, and uncertain about their choices in life to take a chance and try to get out of that darkness. You know, it really upsets me that we live in a culture that is so destructive and misleading. Advertisers make all bad things look so appealing and cool on the outside that it’s really hard to see the truth. And I just want to say that it doesn’t have to be that way! You can choose to free yourself from that cultural slavery as much as possible. Just think of our children!!!
As for the music, all the songs have their own unique vibe and are very modern in sound. I love to combine energies that make people want to dance, and at the same time provide a message that will make them think.
I live in Hollywood, California…
which is the heart of the entertainment industry. There are a lot of places to go and see local bands or big established artists. There are a lot of opportunities to showcase yourself as well as sources to learn from. But there is a lot of destruction and desperation as well. This is a very fun city, but it could be very lonely at times. Seeking fame and fortune is the main goal of many people who come here, and with this kind of purpose it’s not hard to get off track. You know, we’ve got a pretty mixed vibe here: It’s a good place to lose your soul and yet, to regain it!
Music business…
I am just at the beginning stages of my career here, so I can’t really say much about the pros and cons of the music industry in the US, but as much as I don’t like technological progress, I must admit, I am so grateful that we have all this technology and resources! You don’t need to be signed by big labels anymore to start making and releasing your own music. It’s all in front of you. You just need to find the right way to do it and not lose much time. The industry has changed drastically and there are so many more possibilities nowadays. Also, I know that I will never give up my values and abandon my priorities for the sake of becoming a top-chart artist. Unfortunately, however, I’ve come to realize that’s how people get ahead in the industry.
I would love to spend 5 minutes alone with…
If you are talking about any person that’s ever existed, then it would definitely be Jesus! He is my Idol and my Savior, but I’ve got so many questions that five minutes wouldn’t suffice to delve into this issue. If, on the other hand, you are asking about a person currently alive, then it would be Donald Trump. Watching him on TV is one thing, but getting a real feeling of his personality would be much more interesting. You know, you can get a true feeling from a person in the first five seconds you meet them.
