Music business…
Streaming has reduced the value of music. The best way to make money is to play live and sell merchandise.

The pros are… that there is a strong community of musicians that try to be helpful.

The Con is… to many DJ venues.

Over coming the hurdles and pitfalls…
I just keep moving forward. It’s like a plant as long as you keep feeding it it will keep growing.

Social media…
I like social media because I can interact with people.

The Biggest Challenge is..
The concept of being a Brand.

Singles vs an album…
What I’ve done is release an album then I will promote one song at a time.

Artistic decisions…
What I tried to do is make a decision on what the sound and style of the album should be. Then when choosing songs make sure it fits into the box that we decided on. I really won’t know if this is the right way until I have worked the album for some time.

What I am most afraid of…
is that I will miss an opportunity because I was afraid to take action.

My personal definition of success is..
This country album is a great success story. I worked and saved for years so I could afford to hire the caliber of musicians I wanted. I also moved back to Canada after 15 years of working abroad.

My over all goal for my life & career is…
To continue having a career in music but to streamline it.

3 Ways that I challenge myself and how each one moves me forward towards my goal.
1) put in a minimum 8 hour day of work towards my career
2) put my self out there, write the email, ask the question
3) Keep up with the gym

It seems I was always into music…
My mom would tell me I would start singing soon as I walked out the door.

FLOATIN’ DOWN THE RIVER
Well it’s based on a trip up to Penticton for Peach Fest. I got invited to hang with my cousin and a bunch of his friends for the weekend. It’s funny cause in the song it’s me saving the day with a big blow up mattress but actually it was the other way around. I spent about 4 month of summer writing and recording the album.

What I tried to do is explore a few of my favorite styles of Country Music. I didn’t want to have listeners hearing the same sounding song with different lyrics. I also wanted to make sure the album had many of the traditional instruments such as Dobro, Mandolin, Pedal Steel, Accordion and the Fiddle. My goal with the album is to make sure that all of B.C. then Canada has heard it or heard of it. I will soon be doing a radio tour with the release of my next single My Mess Your Mess. https://itunes.apple.com/album/id1027109443?ls=1&app=itunes

I live in Abbotsford B.C. Canada…
The music scene is tough. Very few venues and very low pay. In the summer, I like to do things like swimming and boating and camping. I am looking forward to doing some skiing this winter. We have a regular Starbuck routine for lunch and a regular fitness regime with yoga-ish classes.
