Music business…
I think that the music business needs to give a chance to more bands that are true musicians, not just a singer who is molded by a recorded company. That’s why I distribute and promote my music myself.

What pros and cons of the business have you experienced…
I have had a few indie labels interested, but nothing ever panned out from any of them.

I like social media…
it’s another avenue for artist to promote themselves.
Singles vs an album…
I prefer to release an album, I like a whole project. I just do the whole grassroots movement and perform live. Get the music out there.
Do you find that there is to much emphasis on being current and trendy…
I could careless about trends, some people like my music and some people don’t. And that’s ok, but what everyone can expect is my Heart and Soul into my performances and albums.
My personal definition of success is..
My personal definition of success is just to live the life you want.
My over all goal for my life & career is…
I really just want to tell my story. I enjoy when the audience are dancing or bopping their heads to my music.

Ways that I challenge myself and how each one moves me forward towards my goal.
1) I think as a songwriter, I always push myself lyrically and try to tell a story
2) As a performer, I try to just be real. Nothing fancy, no tricks
I began playing guitar when…
I was twelve years old. I played in cover bands growing as a guitarist and eventually moved into the singer spot.
Song name: And The Light Shines Down
I wrote the Safe and Sound EP for my fiance. It’s the first single of the CD. It’s about how her love brought me back to life. I recorded it with Brandon Hans. It was the first time I ever recorded the guitar and then the vocals. I prefer to record everything live. What is on CD is what you here live.
David Huyler indie musicMy fans can always expect…
acoustic rock and roll. Safe and Sound EP is about my life, so it is my story. The listener can always expect that from me.
I live in Brick, NJ…
and the music scene is more like a community. I usually go to open mics just to keep current with playing out. Right now I like the vibe at Java Haus in Brick, NJ. I’m a family man, so spending time with my children and fiance is fun to me.
I would love to have 5 minutes alone with…
my Dad again. He past away when I was 16. He inspired me to be whatever I wanted to be. Whether it was a lawyer, teacher or construction worker. He inspired me to be a family man. It is the most important quality in a man.
I am most afraid of…
I am afraid most of not being a good Dad; I want to always be there for my children. And snakes, I am terrified of snakes. I can’t even look at a picture of them.
