This track is about the highs and lows of everyday life and how in the midst of conflict and uncertainty, there is always a silver lining. I wrote this song because I wanted to maintain a positive outlook through all my experiences despite increasing demands and stress.
If you don’t have someone to help make decisions and guide you with their resources, you can either do nothing and become stagnant or press on and make the best decision you can at the time. I decided to move on and take responsibility for where I was at and where I am going.
Anything can inspire me to write a song . Sometimes, a simple conversation can bring about some great music, and that music can draw people in. I call the music I create “Life Music” because it involves every aspect of my life.
The emotional challenge is to keep the dynamics and feel of the song while adding all these instruments, as often the initial intent can get lost in the mix. Mentally, when I’m recording instruments or vocals, my mind is working as though I’m part of a band, not a soloist.
I want to live in a better world and so I am trying to do my part through music for this and future generations. I am an anti-bullying advocate and create songs about life, love and social change.
You will notice in his music many expansive influences reaching far across genres. Marty takes from American singing/songwriting traditions, the science of electronica, the layers of orchestral and ambient music, the patience of raga and drone music, and the theory of jazz.
I’m looking forward to look back at this year as being the best first year for this new band. I want to be very proud at what we’ve achieved during this time. Hopefully this will take us to a new level and then we’ll record more music to enlighten the world with the unique sounds from PyraKite.

Basically I’m looking forward to looking back, and seeing the real growth I’ve made with this new direction and renewed focus on social media. Then I’ll start planning to take it to the next level. In other words: taking the shots.
I realized I could have never written the songs that I am writing now if I had not traveled the road that had been laid out for me. I am grateful for everything I have been through, all of those experiences, and for being here right now.
